Cedarwood

Cedar is a conifer originally from the Middle East and the Himalayas, and it has been revered for its spiritual significance for thousands of years. Its wood was used to construct the doors of sacred temples (it was used for the construction of the first Temple of Jerusalem), and people burned it in cleansing ceremonies to purify the air. People believed that the tree housed important gods and was a doorway to higher dimensions. In addition to its wonderful aroma, this tree has the ability to repel insects and worms.

Cedar essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the wood, and its main compounds are sesquiterpenes, alcohols, and sesquiterpene ketones. Its color is a transparent yellow, and it has a fine, acidic woody smell.

Its properties are: soothing, harmonizing, respiratory and lymphatic tonic, wound healing, astringent, and insect repellent.

It is indicated in cases of arteriosclerosis, hydrolipid retention, bronchitis, tuberculosis, dermatitis, gonorrhea, greasy skin and hair, dandruff, hair loss, nervous tension and sadness. Energetic-Emotional effects: Cedar essential oil helps one to accept and love oneself. It helps create faith and hope in the struggle to achieve the heart’s desires. Cedar has been used to cure and purify and also for spiritual protection. It is believed that its spiritual properties promote thoughts of peace and help to interpret one’s internal messages.
